Natural and Home Made Body Scrub

Want to add some glow to your skin? No matter what the season, our skin can look dry and unhealthy. A body scrub is just what you need! And, just a quick look in the refrigerator or pantry might be all the effort required to find some common ingredients that will make a luxurious body scrub. Here are some simple, and effective ideas:

Coffee Grounds
Just a handful of coffee grounds, with a little salt added if you like, is a perfect body scrub! Just use in the shower on moistened skin and then thoroughly rinse off.

Oats Scrub
Again, you can use this in its pure form, or pulverize in a powerful blender or food processor until you're left with a fine oat powder. Use all over your body in the shower, and again - be sure to rinse well.

Yogurt & Honey
A soothing shower treatment, more than a true 'scrub', honey is nutrient rich and fantastic for skin! This is great for sensitive skin, as honey is also very gentle and mild. Just mix up some pure, natural yogurt (full-fat is best) and a tablespoon or two of honey, and take that into the shower and have a spa treat, right out of the fridge!

Cornmeal Body Scrub
This is a great, traditional scrub! Just use pure cornmeal. This will leave your skin soft and feeling lovely.

Woman Sues Victoria's Secret Over Alleged Thong Injury

A California woman, saying she was injured by a faulty staple linking a jeweled-heart adornment to her underwear thong, has filed a lawsuit against Victoria's Secret, it was reported during an interview with the plaintiff and her attorney on Thursday's Today show.

Marcrida Patterson, 52, is claiming permanent damage to her cornea after an allegedly defective "low-rise v-string" (part of Victoria's Secret's "Sexy Little Thing" line) flew apart and struck her in the eye, says her June 9 filing, according to Los Angeles NBC affiliate KNBC, which earlier reported the story.

The suit does not specify monetary damages being sought, and, despite numerous attempts to press Patterson's lawyer into naming a figure, Today anchor Meredith Vieira essentially brought the interview to an end after he repeatedly dodged answering.

The attorney insisted the lawsuit was about consumer protection. Victoria's Secret had no comment.

Cure Varicose Veins

One-third of women have varicose veins. Varicose veins are mostly a cosmetic problem. However, they can cause burning or itchy skin, pain, and swollen legs and feet.

Now you can have freedom from varicose veins if they are affecting you. Fortunately, you don't have to put up with varicose veins. Relax and learn about how to find relief, prevent, or cure them.

HOME REMEDIES

  • To stimulate circulation and alleviate or cure varicose veins alternate hot with cold compresses over a period of 2 minutes each for a total of 10 minutes. Epsom salt in the bath also helps.
Visible results are seen in a month when you apply a cloth saturated with apple cider vinegar for 30 minutes twice each day. Along with this, drink 8 oz. of water with 2 Tbsp. of apple cider vinegar.

  • To accelerate healing of inflammation do nightly applications of crushed cabbage leaves or overly ripe apples. Diced red onion works as does a combination of 1:1 applications of fish liver oil and natural honey. Natural aloe vera relieves burning and irritation.
  • Other remedies include external applications of comfrey, chamomile, oatstraw, or witch hazel.

  • Internally, one may take one cup or 4 capsules of the following to help prevent varicose veins: Ginkgo biloba, oatstraw, horse chestnut, or parsley.

    Tired face no more

Unlike women, men have limited options on hiding imperfection especially on their face. Women have makeup to cover up their dark circles and fatigued eyes. But correcting tired face and puffy eyes for men is a big trouble. Most of the time, they would just let go.

I’d like to inform all men out there, you have to be vain at times. There are some ways for men to accomplish it too.

    Banish Puffiness
Fluid retention is the cause of puffy eyes and is an even bigger problem for those with sinus difficulties or allergies.

  • Try lightly tapping the lower orbital of your eyes with your ring finger from the inner to outer corner.
  • Try a cold compress on your eyes for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Smooth on an eye cream that soothes and brightens.

    Get Rid of Redness
Before you head for the over-the-counter eye drops, try natural ones. Natural eye drops will calm your eyes using a sterile saline solution without chemicals.

Soothe Tired Eyes at no cost
Get a cool strawberry or cucumber and slice it in 1/8 of an inch thick. Your eyes will look clear and less puffy after you place a slice on each eye for around 10 minutes, and you can just continue with your regular face cleansing routine afterwards.

Or, you can try a milk soother. All you need to do is soak a couple of large cotton balls in cold milk, and then place one cotton ball on each eye. After 10 or 15 minutes of relaxation, you can continue with your cleansing routine. Who needs touch-ups when you can get rid of your tired face in under a quarter of an hour?

    Additional Tips
  • Drink water! You’ve heard it before, but it will clean out your system and prevent puffy eyes from recurring.
  • Store your face creams in the refrigerator. Cold facial products will reduce swelling in your face and instantly calm the tired face effect.

    Must Learn Beauty NO NO's

I am sure you honestly didn't mean to commit a beauty no-no, you merely were stuck in a bad habit that you weren't even aware that you had. Your poor prince of a guy was probably too embarrassed to mention your lipstick to you before or maybe he was soooooh mesmerized by what came out of your lovely lips that he was caught up in a romantic blur.

However, there are some beauty no-no's that no matter what, are best avoided:

Clumpy Mascara. Mascara should thicken, lengthen and darken in a fashion that mimics real lush eyelashes.

Lining your inner eye with blue. It only "brightens" eyes on stage and looks freaky and runny in person.

Cakey Make-up. You know the kind, it gets caught in your wrinkles, ugh!

Foundation that stops at your chin. Avoid the makeup mask by blending the color down your neck.

Slashes of your contour powder. The idea is not to look like you were sideswiped by the makeup van, but you honestly have high cheekbones.

Dark roots. Only work on early Madonna or punk kids.

Wooly or over-plucked eyebrows. Eyebrows balance your eye shape and face; they should not overpower or under whelm.

Dragon Lady Nails. If you need your knuckles to use a telephone, your nails are too long.

Obvious Plastic Surgery. There is some truth to too much of a good thing.

Perfume that precedes you and then lingers behind a room. Only dogs need to leave their scent.

French Fashion Community give Yves St. Laurent a last bow

Yves Henri Donat Dave Mathieu-Saint-Laurent was the first living fashion designer to be honored by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Now that he's dead, the fashion world has indeed lost one great designer. YSL was only 71 years old.

Top names in the world of fashion in France together with President Nicolas Sarkozy and his ex-model wife Carla Bruni (in photo), are due to attend the funeral Thursday of one of the country's most legendary designers, Yves Saint Laurent.

Saint Laurent, one of the 20th century's greatest couturiers, credited with revolutionising women's wardrobes, died Sunday aged 71 of a brain tumour.

Also attending will be staff from the YSL empire as well as current designer Stefano Pilati and most of the big names on the Paris fashion scene -- Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Sonia and Nathalie Rykiel, Kenzo Takada, Valentino and Riccardo Tisci.

Notably absent will be rival Karl Lagerfeld, "away on business," according to Chanel, and Pierre Cardin, also not in Paris. From the business sector, the head of the world's leading luxury group LVMH, Bernard Arnault is expected, along with the head of Christian Dior couture, Sidney Toledano.
